Lucky man! First, don't go alone. Take with you flashlight, sleepbag, light hat, not too much cloth. Don't walk fast! March to April is good. Weather is nice. Drink coca mate (drink prepared with coca leaves) You'll enjoy and never forget this trip! But....be prudent! I tell you this because I'am Peruvian-Canadian born in Cuzco, so I speak Quechua); now working in China. |

travel very light and leave all your valuables and nice clothes at home, (yes i mean that watch and shoes) , there's a lot of pickpocketing and robberies, so travel with a local always, macchu picchu is pretty high so expect to get sisk on the first day, till you get aclimated to the altitude, it gets very cold at night and hot during the day, layering is a must. it might rain at any time so have your plastic poncho ready. |
