there is a tica busline from mexico city to san jose costa
rica* you can stop along the way* three months is to long
for just two countries* the tica busline goes to panama also
and is resonalble transport to and from san jose --mexico
city*** it may be hard to find at the mexico city airport
so spend some time in zona rosa mexico city and ask around.
you can spend a month in mexico city alone***the tica busline
is famously cheap between cities*

Question
check out pelenque, tikal, caye caulker, bay islands, lago atitlan, livingston, rio dulce, flores, copan, theres basicly a gringo trail you can follow that everyone seems to do. 3 months is good enough to spend some time to get the feel of the locals.

it should be more than enough time unless you are planning on stopping in every city in mexico and costa rica.

Yes 3 months is more than enough. The best route by land would be along the highway/road in the Yucatan peninsula and along the eastern coast of Costa Rico.

yeah, i think you can take tica from some place in mexico to panama city. there maybe other bus lines that run that as well. much more comfortable and cheaper than american greyhound.

i think its like $55 from somewhere in MX to PC. I went from managua to PC for $35. Movies on board and everything....weeeeeeeeeee.

then i took greyhound when i got back to the states and greyhound sucked.
