Is Argentina considered Latin America or Caribbean?

I tried to use a coupon that says
For travel within the 48 United States of from the 48 United States to Canade, Latin America or the Caribbean:

When I called continental airlines they told me Argentina doesn't count as latin america.
Although, when I checked on the internet latin america includes Argentina. So who is right? Are they trying to rip me off?

Argentina is in South America. Definitely too far south to be considered Caribbean. Iffy on the Latin America - usually limited to countries in Central America, or islands like Puerto Rico and Cuba, Dominican R.

And yes, they are trying to rip you off. Get your resource material together and talk to a supervisor. Politely ask them to honour your coupon as your sources reveal that Argentina is within Latin America.

Good luck!

well i guess what they define as latin america.

technically it is part of south america not central america.

Pey
The most common view is that Latin America includes territories in the Americas where Spanish or Portuguese prevail: Mexico and most of Central America, South America, and (per land area and population) parts of the Caribbean.

Buenos Aires is sometimes referred to as the "Paris of the South" or "Paris of South America".[2][3] It is one of the most sophisticated cities in Latin America.

Its capital, Buenos Aires has one of Latin America’s most cosmopolitan populations.

No one. ITs South America. They Are more "Argentinos" than latinos. Same like Brazilians or Mexicans. They are latinos but they are more specific countrys because culture and country size.

Latin American, because it's in the southern part of the Southern America. Carribean sea is between the Northern and Southern Americas, so to the north of the latter.

Jose P
Definitely Continental Airlines is trying to rip you off. Geographically speaking, Latin America includes all of the countries from Mexico to Chile and Argentina. You can tell Continental Airlines that Argentina is in Latin America.

You should try (guessing your coupon is for one pass destinations) to call Copa Airlines (the panamanian airline owned by Continental Airlines), they will give you better use of your coupon.

Cister
Latin. South America

whatuknowaboutthatisback
well u can tell that they just mean north america cuz its the lower 48, if theyre not willing to go to hawaii they obviously aren't gonna go to south america

airsound
We are too white and too developed to be considered as latin america

Well being that it is neither on the Caribean or included in Latin America I'd say it would be more likely considered southern South America.

latin america, but the caribe would also be latin america (and mexico, and panama...). maybe they meant south america.
