Is Brazil a nice place to visit?

I came back from Rio two weeks ago. I stayed near the great beaches...even my Brazilian friends were all like "be careful", "take taxi here and there"...I took even the bus and I had no problem at all. Yes, you can see in some areas the "favelas" and the contrast between poor and ultra rich (I did not find any middle class areas) it's really shocking. I have seen in TV and magazines but nothing prepares you when something so beautiful in one side and then like building over a huge hill of rock tiny things one over another, are houses of poor people.

But everybody was nice and helpful. I have no complaint. We went to downtown and all...no problem. But yes, will depend which part of Brazil you are thinking to go.

Of course, it's always wise to look everywhere and have a good travel bag with you that you can cross over your body for best protection. Same precautions that you must take in big cities.

NO, im brazilian and I moved to the US because it's dangheorus there, specially if you have a lot of money or don't speak portuguese. Rio, Sao Paolo , dude... there will be some places that just by looking at them you know you wont get out of there alive! Also a lot of homosexuals in Rio so keep urself out of there and if u meet a girl and have sex wear a condon, AIDS its spreading a lot donw in Brasil

I am pretty sure it's a wonderful land to visit...yeah, sure you will have some troubles cuz i have heard that some places are dangerous...but you will have fun over there

YES!! i've never been there, but from what i've seen on TV and in books, it looks like a paradise heaven. I REALLY want to go to Brazil soooo BAD, i'm goin to try to go after i'm done with high school or college, might even try livin out there, if i can.

YES ! it is. Es mui Lindo, Hermoso. You should visit. Stay away from Rio and Sao Paulo. These cities are just as bad as New York City, New Jersey, Miami. Not very welcoming.
Visit Goaiania ...Brasilia, Salvador, Bahia. Also Bello Horizonte. You will enjoy these places.
One can not generalize because Brasil Has many beautiful, good places. Not all Brasilians are mean and evil. Many are really nice. It depends on who you meet and their upbringing.
If you are more adventurous ...visit Minas Gerais...too.
