hahahhaahah NOPE!!!!

I guess no more geography in the US school system! huh?

Is not. They are a republic in Central America. We (Puerto Rico) are the only latin country that is a US territory.

Warner Stevenson
No its not a part of the US even though the US coast guards do patrol their water.

as for this:
they tried to mess with us and own us but we kicked the US *** back in 1858 and won the battle, so they returned to the US after their lost battle and let us alone and that's how we were, still are, and will be an independent country!

They obvioulsy dont teach history in Costa Rica since Costa Rica never "kicked the US *** back in 1858 and won the battle"

He is refeerring to William Walker who was not the U.S. he was just a self made conqueror and explore from the U.S. who thought he could conquer anything south of the U.S. and had no affiliation whatsoever with the U.S. or its army.

Yes, it is secretly owned by Chiquita Banana Company who bought it after the president of Guatemala William Walker's abortive attempt to conquer the country with the help of Guatemalan mercenaries. Since that time, they have an agreement with the US government to protect the country, hence no national military, and to provide subsidies in the form of foreign aid instead of the farm support they would normally get. There are talks about transferring the country to the Chinese inexchange for the money the US borrowed for the Bank Bailout that are close to closing as evidenced by the large amount of investment the Chinese have made there in recent years.
