Thanks again for mentioning our web directory. Costa Rica doesn't get its main supply from Venezuela, but dioniferlini is right. If it joins Petrocaribe, it probably will because of the favorable conditions in the agreement. In fact, one of our recent blogs touched on the subject. Go to the TicosLand website to read more.

Tico Roots.
Right now CR uses 55,000 barrels of petroleum daily and the price of it this year will more likely duplicate 2007´s price and Costa Rica buys a very big percentage of its crude oil from Venezuela so Costa Rica would really benefit economically from being part of Petro Caribe because the way they would pay for the crude oil would be 40% of the petroleum bill in 90 days and the other 60% of the price would be financed for 25 years. Currently CR only has 8 days to pay the whole petroleum bill. Another good thing is that they would be able to pay with other ways besides money like products, trade, tourism, ect.. It will also benefit agriculture in CR because 100,000 metric tons of agriculture fertilizer would be distributed at up to a 40% discount on the price to the countries. 18 countries throughout the caribean and central america are part of Petro Caribe so far and CR was invited by Vene to be part of Petro Caribe and on weds 7/16/08 CR sent the official incorporation solicitation note to Petro Caribe. So maybe soon CR will be part of Petro Caribe and it would really benefit the country economically.

Costa Rica isn't getting the main supply from Venezuela. However, if Costa Rica becomes the newest member of Petrocaribe, then it might be so.
If you need any information regarding Costa Rica, go the a website called TicosLand.com. I found a lot of information there.

No.

for now no, I think we Latin Americans need to be joined more together, It doesn't matter what political views we have, we are not getting married is just being united, and to fight these problems like high oil prices, not depend so much on the US, like the European countries that are very united
