Is El Salvador a good place to visit? |
I'm a US citizen. If I were traveling there, would I need a visa? And what would be some places worth visiting in the country? How is the transportation? Is it possible to rent cars down there?
I know, I ask a lot of questions. Thanks to anybody who responds. |

you will absolutely love it, guaranteed! Ive never known anyone who hasnt loved coming here
now, you dont need a visa..theres lots of places to visit...off the top of my head: puerto de la libertad, el sunzal, el tunco, decameron salinitas, costa del sol, el cuco (beaches)....juayua, ataco, apaneca, suchitoto (colonial/small towns).....el cerro verde, el boqueron, el imposible, el trifinio (mountains, woods) zona rosa, multiplaza, la gran via, colonia san luis (bars, nightlife in san salvador) multiplaza, galerias, la gran via (shopping) joya de ceren, el tazumal, san andres (archeological ruins) MUNA, MARTE (history and art museums)
as for transportation, do not put any hopes on buses or public transportation....it sucks big time and youll get lost and it might be dangerous. Take a cab from your hotel or rent a car (they have those at the airport)
So, I think I have put a good amount of places for you to choose from...as you may see, el salvador has a lot for you to do and you will have lots of fun |

El Salvador is a beautiful place to visit. I recommend you to visit towns instep of cities because towns are full of beauty, lots of trees, the culture all around you,not many cars, etc. In cities there are mostly cars, shopping center, and stuff like that. You can rent cars like here in the U.S.A. There are many places worth visiting , visit http://www.nvmundo.com/travelinfo/elsalvador/sattract.htm |

You don't need a Visa.
There are many tourist attractions such as El Cerro Verde, El Tazumal, Volcanoes, and it had many wonderful beaches.
Most transportation methods are mostly walking and taking the bus.You could also get a cab.
Yes,it is possible to rent a car.
And yes, it's an amazing place to visit.

I am actually in El Salvador right nowin a beach called Playa San Blas in La Libertad county. It is very beautiful! Make sure to bring sun block and bug repellent though. If you go to the capital, visit La Sona Rosa, La Gran Via, and Multi Plaza for good city night life. During the day, there are many options too! Los Planness, Puerta del Diablo, Volcanoes, etc. Yesterday I went to the volcano near Serro Verde (1 hour from the capital.) Then I went to a beautiful mountain town; Ataco. Also visit Lake Quatepece (maybe spelt wrong but it's perounced similar.) |
