Is not that bad!! Its like any other city with dangerous neighborhoods and with beautiful and safe places.
You as a tourist, you are going to avoid the bad areas.
I'm pretty sure you'll love Guatemala like everybody does!!!
I'd suggest to go to Antigua or Panajachel or Peten.
Don't think too much about that and have fun! |

Actually, Guatemala is THAT GOOD!!! There are still a very few places available to study spanish in the best language school in Antigua Guatemala if you are interested in attending. no guatemala is not bad... im here right now actually.! im leaving tmrw night...and like yeah its dangerous like any other place.. and it may be more dangerouss but u just have to keep ure eyes oepned and avoid the bad places.. liek thers malls clubs bars where ure safe..just at night its not good to walk alone unless if u really know hwere ure going... im sure ull have fun! how long are u going for? keep me updated! |

I just got back from Antigua, in December. I was there a week. I never really felt uncomfortable except in Guatemala city. I did go on a 10 hour bus ride to Tikal and it was fine and worth it. |
