I agree with Mariano. Geographically, Mexico and Central America are part of North America. Chunking these countries by language or race is ignorant, maybe even racist.

kentata
North America ... it's the southernmost country in North America.

And to lucywhatever - it DOES snow in Mexico ... not at the beach resorts, but in the mountains ... just like most places in the world.

Do some research before you post answers that make you look ignorant. I've even seen flurries in Mexico City (about 7000 ft elevation).

Definitely North America:

Physiographically, North America ends not at the Isthmus of Panama but at the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, Mexico with the intervening region called Central America (or Middle America if the Caribbean is included) and resting on the Caribbean Plate. Before the Central American isthmus was raised, the region had been underwater.

If you take the borders as point of reference North America ends at the border between Mexico and Guatemala.

Mexico is part of North America although many canadians and people from the US don't like it. And America is not the US alone. The american continent has over 30 nations, from Chile on the Southbound of Southamerica , it runs through countries like Peru, Colombia , Panama, Mexico , Canada etc all the way to Alaska.

If you divide America according to it's culture background:

- North-America: Canada and US.

- Central-America: Belice, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panamá

- Caribbean Sea: Haiti, Cuba, Jamaica, etc.

- South-America: Venezuela and Colombia to Chile and Argentina

Of course, if you divide it geographically it will be different but I think it's more accurate to divide it according to the culture.

NORTH AMERICA of course... Not only geographically but geologically wise as well. The North American tectonic plate ends at about the southern tip of Mexico. The Caribbean Plate is mostly what is known to be Central America.

Take a look at the link below; that should answer any doubts about Mexico being in North America. (I hope)

North America is a continent and covers everything from Panama northward. Central America is a region of North America and is generally understood to include everything south of Mexico.

If it in the northern hemisphere, in other words above the equator, it is North America, and Mexico is completely north of that line. As is all of central America and some of the continent of South America. Map makers have always found it easier to divide the continents by land mass. One thinks of Africa as being in the southern hemisphere, but the bulk of Africa is north of the equator.

So would you guys say that Central America is part of South America? Central America is part of North America along with Mexico.

Central America is part of North America. Mexico is part of North America, and sometimes considered part of Central America as well.

Mexico is a part of Central America. That's why it's always hot there. If it was part of North America, it would snow during the winter times
