Is Spanish spoken un Suriname?

we are starting to learn about re volutions of the speakign spanish contries directly influenced by the American revolution. so she gave me the country of Suriname. I've read that a dutch colony was established there first., but she told me that Suriname was a Speaking spanish nation just as Colombia and Venezuela .. i am confused..

The official language of Suriname is Dutch. However, Sranan Tongo - an English creole with influences from Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese and West African languages - serves as the lingua franca. English and Spanish are widely used at touristy places.

There may be some that speak it....just like there are Anglo-Saxons here that speak it....but no...it is not an official or main language over there.
