December is a good month to visit Cusco, the atmosphere leading up to Christmas is exciting and the weather is OK too (certainly warmer than today here). There is also a crazy market on 25th December in the Main Square which has to be seen to be believed. There are plenty of other visitors around Christmas too although not the hordes of high season, which means Cusco has a good buzz.

Yes other than its chilly and avoid the end of Dec due to all the XMas vaationers. Also if you are going to spend the time and money to go there, shell out the ridiculous $250 for one night for the motel inside MP, otherwise you will miss both sunrise and sunset which are the best times to be there. There is a club Sout American Explorers Club that can help you plan your trip Also becareful in Cusco after dark.
