December is a little cold ... very windy! but climate changes a lot!!! San Jose can be really cold and at the same time Guanacaste can be really hot! If you come to San Jose and you like partying, you can visit a lot of clubs! also you can visit museums, theaters, movies, just going shopping, etc! (you can find exc malls at San Jose) ... if you are going to Guanacaste, Puntarenas, Limón, you can also look for a good party, visit beaches, national parks, etc! there are a lot of things to chose from! you can also go to visit volcanoes or just eat a good tamale! jaja! but if you just want sun try to come between january and june! bye! PS: if you like extreme activities you can go and try bungee jumping, canopy, skywalking, etc!

Costa Rica is a wonderful country and I do think December is a good month to do. You must visit San Jose and Heredia, those are wonderful cities. Also Alajuela and Cartago.

Costa Rica is wonderful

I'm gonna give you the name of the best book I've read on this topic. You can get it at a local AAA (auto club) store even if you're not a member or you can order it from the AAA.com website. The book, simply titled "Costa Rica" is a PLANET EARTH issue and I liked the authors. What you do while in Costa Rica is very much dependent on what your interests are. I know some who go there just to fish, or surf, or tour the ecological areas, etc.. I just plain enjoyed touring around the country and socializing with the Ticos who tend to be friendlier than most folks in the world (read 'No army'). But now that there are one million + tourists a year in the country, there is the inevitable struggle between the "haves" and "Havenots". So if you have it, you better watch out for it and use your head about being in a foreign country subject to their laws. Check with the American Embassy web sites to get more specific information. Enjoy the sights, people and wildlife with respect lest we breed some avarice toward the "Gringos".

Pura Vida
