I've lived in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay and Peru and let me tell you that I made good money working in Peru. The cost of living is better than Chile and Argentina (both are very expensive now), the economy is quite stable and there is very little, if none, terrorism going on. If you are a qualified person, with a university degree and some years of expertise in a specific area, you wont have trouble finding a good job.
Most people who left Peru during the 80's (due to terrorism and hyperinflation) still have the idea of Peru being this aweful country but things changed a lot with Fujimori and now Peru is a very good country to live in. If I could go back and retire there I would definetly do it. |

my grandmother and most of my other family lives in Peru....they don't have it hard.....sometimes its hard to make money, but overall its just talk. If you can find a stable way to make money then everything should be fine. |

You won't be able to find a good paying job unless you have some bachelor or better degree (or you are really lucky). Even though you won't be able to make so much money like in the US, the lower cost of living there compensates that.
By the way, you can enjoy life a little better over there because people like to do more activities with other people |

I've been living in Peru for 3 years now, finding work is easy, finding a good paying job is not.
Once you get a good job and settle in, its not so bad.
In the last couple years, I've changed cars twice and bought my own apartment and am looking into buying another one. |

life is only hard if you don't have money. If you know spanish, it'll be easy for you to get a high paying job especially if you are american. Basically, there are some parts of Peru that are more luxusious than most of the U.S., and money that would likely last you 1 month here, would last you 3 months there. Life could be easier there than it is in the U.S. |

It depends where are you going in Peru. Like in any other countries, Life is not hard if you come with money. Like in any other place of the planet. |
