Costa Rica has the highest per-capita of Americans living in-country outside of the continental U.S.

Costa Rica is a world renowned retirement destination for U.S., Canadian and European citizens.

Tourism, medical vacations, high school and college student trips are all major industries here in Costa Rica.

I am an American living in Costa Rica and have never had any problems. I live with my 10 year old son who goes to a bilingual school. This Sunday my 13 year old daughter will be in Costa Rica for her Spring Break week from her Florida school. My mother from Texas as well as my ex-father-in-law from Illinois have both visited and look forward to their return visits.

Come on down ... the weather, culture and experience are fine!

Hondu
It must be. There sure are a lot of people from the United States living there.

★☆Mami to be→DUE DEC 3rd♥♥
Probably cause theres a lot of Americans living there

arielmuv
what do you mean now?
It has always been safe for "Americans" to live in Costa Rica...
It is just depends on how many Americans are located in one specific area.
That is what attracts crime.
It kind of like towns in USA you wouldn't move to a place with a high crime rate.

Of course! I was there a few months ago, and they were really courteous. A lot of my family lived there, and Costa Ricans were really nice to them. Costa Rica is considered to be the most polite country in Central America.

Choco
of course it is, why would you think its not. crime is very low although it exsits. But crime exsits in the us too. imagine someone saying ' is it safe to live in america because i hear of a place called compton'
crime is low but like the us it is aroung but generally costa rica is safe as.

BROCK PETERS: OBAMA'S #1 FAN
