What a bunch of terrible answers. Nicaragua is a democratic country. As such, the right to private property is protected by its laws and constitution. Now, I wouldn't go as far as saying that the risk is non-existent, but it is very low.
Regarding crime... this risk is present anywhere in the world. |

Actually, Nicaragua is the safest country in Central America in terms of low criminal activity.
And regarding the opportunity to invest in real state, it's absolutely safe to but property. However -just like in any other country you're not familiar with- you should get a good lawyer to take care of reviewing any papers and the public records before buying.
Nicaragua is currently attracting American and Canadian citizens looking for great investment opportunities in the real state area. There's an official institution from the Nicaraguan Government that may advise you on this subject (see link below). |
