A simple answer would be NO.
Actually my friend was flying there last week and American Airlines canceled the flights. Not that something would happened to you, but it is certainly not the best moment to go there.
Airports in Pando, Tarija and other states have been taken by civil movements. I would rather wait until the smokes clears out...

In terms of crime the first answerer is correct. Bolivia is a beautiful country that is safer than most of Latin America.

However, I think that your question concerns the present conflicts in Bolivia. My answer is it depends where you are going. If you are staying in the highlands you will be fine (La Paz, Oruro, Potosi, Lake Titicaca, Salares de yuni and probably Cochabamba etc. you will be fine. If you are going to Sucre, Santa Cruz, Tarija, or the provinces of Pando and Beni you could be caught in riots and violent demonstrations or you could be trapped for days somewhere because all of the roads are blocked.

If you are Brazilian no, they are annulling the Brazilians in the streets until a Brazilian child was hurt, for the news that are arriving in Brazil today it was a calm day, tomorrow the presidents of Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela they will meet to try to mediate a truce in the country. It would be more careful wait a little bit until the things normalize for there, the Bolivians are very nice people.

H-E-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS YESS!!! its so gorgious there, i recomend going!!!!!! take a boat ride thru the town, its really riviting, and also, stay at the ringling brothers hotel, they have a circus IN the hotel. its so amazing. but yes, its totally safe, people just blow the whole deal outta proportion

Juan M
Yes. It is much safer then say, New York. American media blows things out of proportion. Please, go visit Bolivia. It is so beautiful.
