Of course it's safe to go to Colombia. People have this sily idea that Colombia is just drug lords, Farc, and chaos everywhere! That's absolutely wrong. Colombia is a beautiful country and Cali and Medellin are even more beautiful than Bogota. Visit your friends and have a great time! Colombia is as safe as any other country in the world, just take the normal precautions you would take when travelling anywhere and enjoy life. |

Hello, I am from Cali also and what Andres says is true. Cali is a wonderful city to visit...Medellin is also great, SAFER THAN BOGOTA....and you dont be worry about it...all you hear in the news about Colombia isnt true all of it...i know it..just dont try to show that you got more than everyone else...the rest, go with my bless :D you will love my country...

Of course!!! I'm from Cali and I would say you than this city is very beautiful and safe. Nevertheless, you can't, for example, to shine your valor articles as cell phones, ipods, or expensive accessories. but generally Cali receives very well to foreigners. well, good way in your travel and I hope you in here!!! Lol!!!
suggestion: visit Torre de Cali, La Merced, La Ermita, etc, etc. Moreover, it's good to wear short clothe bczz the heath in here is unbearable in June and July. In August the temperatures do not exceed the 75`. so you will come on good time. good luck... (sorry for my englsih) |

unfortunately Colombia has this awful stereotype because of what happened like 20 years ago. Nowadays is very safe, beautiful and nice people, amazing country, everyone is so friendly, go ahead and visit your friends. Just take general precautions like you would in any other city. Of course there are bad dangerous places, but which city in the world doesn't have those? have fun |
