Absolutely!!! Go and have fun! Just be aware life is different there. Keep a good hold of you documentation (passports, tickets, etc...) Also, be aware that some people may try to charge you a little more money for things than they would locals, but that's not a big deal. It will be a great and new experience for you and your husband.
Most places you go will have someone who would know enough English to help you out, so don't let that scare you. All Central Americans love to help you out if you are making an honest attempt to try and communicate with them. Take a Spanish/English dictionary or a travel guide that can help you with some Spanish words and phrases.
And lastly, don't let idiots who give you answers like "buy a ticket to go somewhere else and get a bullet proof vest" scare you. They have probably never been out of the US to even have a clue what they're talking about.
Too many Americans have never stepped foot outside of this country and don't have any idea what the rest of the world is like. I am all for anyone who is willing to step out of their comfort zone and see the world. It's competely different than this "bubble" we call the USA. |

make sure you visit the beaches.
they are breath taking!!! and do not forget to try the authentic dish "Pupusas" they are fabulous!!!!!!
Just be careful with your personal papers, like your passport, and airline tickets and money. Rent a safety box at the hotel where you can deposit your valuables. |

If you're concerned about your safety you'll be fine... and as for not being able to speak a word in Spanish, that could be a problem. but I'm sure they have people out there who speak English and again I'm sure you'll do fine. :) |

el salvador is a pretty safe country to visit and you not speaking spanish could be a small problem but el salvador does have many english speaking people do to many americans moving out there the country is beautiful here is an article that a british man wrote it will be helpful |

i live in el salvador and honestly i can tell you that el salvador gets bad reputation due to the war we had that ended about 15 years ago the country has been at peace since then and like many people have answered here on yahoo el salvador is not anymore dangerous than any other country and the country is nice and the people are friendly |

I guess it is as safe as to travel to the US (what with it being on the hit list for many a terrorist). However since you don't speak the language it could be a problem. But most places, most people do know a smattering of English. |

I havent seen any travel warnings but be very careful. Keep an eye on your possessions and your money. It is a terrible experience if u have a problem and cant speak the language. |

well safety - you are fine, but be ready to take out the big $bucks$
because they will be able to tell u r 4m here because u don't speak spanish so in stores, they will charge u higer prices |
