No the only places you can go to right now without a passport are US territories (ie Puerto Rico, US virgin islands....) In Jan. '07 TSA or whoever is making it so you need a passport to leave or enter this country no matter where you are going or coming from.

No, and more importantly if you want to get back into the U.S. you will need a passport.

There were a few islands in the Caribbean, like Bermuda, that this was still possible a few years back, but not anymore.

Just think about it: if you are let into, say Brazil with only an ID and birth certificate, how are you going to get back to the US without a passport?

You think those cops from Homeland Security will think it's funny or cute?

Beside you'll never get a boarding pass from any airline if you don't show up to the airport without a passport, no matter how much you try to persuade them.
