Jaco as it sits now, is still pretty much the same (or worse) when you visited two years ago. However, I think you will see some major changes in Jaco in the forthcoming years.
Overseas investment, skyrocketing land sales and high-rise condos will bring only those that can afford to spend money. With that said, expect to see the town clean up, and focus more to the wealthy with theatres, arts, and more family entertainment as Las Vegas has. |

Was just there last april and sadly Like so many towns before it, Jaco is still an example of the continuous profanation of a sacred place. Full bars still exist solely for sex tourism. The main road through town is packed with surf shops, stores selling any Costa Rican trinket imaginable, western style mall, restaurants, and of course, night clubs. Still, the natural beauty of the long beach and surrounding cliffs and Mountains can not be ignored.
