Is marijuana illegal in Costa Rica? |
I have read conflicting reports on weather or not Marijuana is illegal in Costa Rica. Some have said that there are strict punishments including jail time for possession of even small amounts of marijuana. I have read other reports saying that Marijuana was decriminalized. Does anyone know which is the case?

yes!!!and i suggest that do not try, the jails over there are not the hotels that you have over here,now the law is not to rough if you are a regular addict,but anyway they will put you in jail to be per some months to learn the experience if you decide to be a mule(carrier). |

Penalties are severe, but enforcement is inconsistent-- especially with tourists which has led some tourists/visitors to conclude that possession is decriminalized. Check the State Department consular reports. |
