Not really. I know a family from Nicaragua and they fled their country several years back. There are militants there and their is constant strife.
Better choice would be Costa Rica, Valenzuela, or some parts of South America.

yeah is good i was there for 2 moths and it was very good people is sincere and helpful people is more lay back and is a very nice place to stay i visit Rivas, esteli,Managua, chinandega,Leon.
Nicaraguan people in the USA are completely different from the ones back home they are not as sincere or credible.
visit Nicaragua and you will see on your own.

It's a GREAT vacation spot. BEAUTIFUL country, the nicest people you'll ever meet...I could go on and on! I recommend you go to Playa Barcelo at Montelimar--it's a 4-star restaurant on the coast that's just amazing. It has a petting zoo, bungalos, and about 10 pools. Plus, you pay for the room and then food and drink are included for the whole stay.

I highly recommend you visit Nicaragua. Go see the islands in Lake Nicaragua, go canopying, and spend some nights in Managua and enjoy the nightlife. It's really an amazing country.

To a previous post: The family that fled is one of many that fled during the Revolution...20 years ago! It's stable now and doing much better. It's shaping up to be an awesome country.

Managua very popular now.

)(*&^%$#@!
i just went to el salvador and it was nice. do u speak spanish. or do u look like a complete whitey. i would say go and enjoy yourself either way. check out the us advisory to international travel for nicuaragua . it will tell you what to watch out for. in guatemala its dangerous. it all depends on the region. i think nicuaaragua is ok though. enjoy the trip

I love visiting Nicaragua.

Managua is a horrible dangerous city but there are beautiful spots.

Try San Juan Del Sur, Matagalpa, Granada, and Corn Islands.

Granada is a historical town with lots to see and do. It's the hot tourist spot. There's the volcano Mambacho and you can glide down the side of the mountain on cables (like Superman if you want).

San Juan Del Sur is absolutely beautiful with surfing and lots of places to eat lobster and relax.

Matagalpa is beautiful and up high so its not as hot.

Corn Islands has snorkeling on beautiful beaches and it's on the carribean coast so everyone speaks (creole) English.

Like anywhere else in Central America (or, the world for that matter) you have to be careful about what you're doing but as far as getting to see amazing things for cheap it's wonderful.

Jose!
i would say no cause is a poor country and they have lot of political problems. i would go to costa rica is the country next to nicaragua is peaceful it doesnt have an army.

I think not
because Nicaragua doesn't have antique mayan buildings
and It doesn't have a lot of hotels

you should go to the beaches of this country
