I am going to be traveling to Honduras in November, my sister tells me that it is distastful to wear shorts and tank tops there. I could not find anywhere online where it said so. Does anyone know for sure, or if there are any other things we should be aware of while traveling there?
I'm from Honduras, and whether you wear shorts and a tank top or jeans and a t-shirt guys will whistle and say hi to you. It's more important not to wear a lot of jewelry (if any, besides earrings) than the way in which you dress. Other than that, just use the same safety precautions you would in any big city in the US (don't walk by yourself at night is a good one). Have fun!

I live in Honduras and have traveled most of the country. I've seen shorts and tank tops everywhere during the day. You may want to dress a little more conservatively in the evenings if you are outside the tourist areas. As far as any other things, no, beyond the usual traveler's cautions about staying out of the city barrios (slums) not flashing large sums of money or expensive jewelry, you will find it easy and enjoyable.

Everything the above people said is good but make sure to take a lot of sun block and keep your handbag in front of you at all times.

my best advice is not wear shorts and tank tops ...i lived there before and some guys over there arent kind ........they will grab your butt or touch your hair or try to kiss in the cheek .....soo just wear pants and regular tshirt dont try to show alot ....and dont wear jewelry specially gold cause within1 second is gonna be gone ....i know that ....
