Is there a nice resort on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, right on the beach, that has fishing & casinos? |
I'm looking for a resort, right on the beach of the Caribbean coast of Cotsa Rica, that's known for the fishing, & ideally has a casino close by. Any ideas? Or if there's no such place on the Caribbean side, what about the Pacific side? |

For fishing the best place is north of Limon in Barra de Colorado, the othe good area for fishing is on the pacific coast in Quepos and Manuel Antonio.
Now for Casinos the better ones are in San José such as the Hotel Fiesta near the airport, Cariari, Herradura, Irazu, Corobici, Marriott, Radisson and the one that used to be called Camino Real near the Multiplaza.

I live i CR and of course! there are many hotels here! i
are you talking about luxury hotels? the best hotels i know are
-4 seasons (guanacaste)
-los suenos (playa herradura)
- Barcelo Tambor (playa Tambor)
those hotels are absolutely amazing and pretty!
there are also really really pretty hotels in amazing beaches like:
- Condovac ( playa hermosa, in guanacaste) very active and you can do many things and i think there is fishing! it is really pretty and the pools are really big.
Tamarindo Diria- just amazing and pretty ( beach Tamarindo in Guanacaste
btw, the most beautiful beaches are in guanacaste, just so you know (playa flamingo, playa grande, golfo papagayo, etc)
there are also volcanoes, canopy, national parks and fun things to do!
The caribbean however, is not so rich and doesn't have any casino hotels, but there is fishing in Limon, but it is dangerous and not so pretty.
What I like about there is that there is a lot of Jamaican and different carribean culture compared to our city people and it is wonderful to discover different cultures in Costa Rica! |

Tortuga Lodge (small 15 rooms) in Tortuguero is situated right on the main canal on 50 acres of private land at the entrance to the exotic Tortuguero National Park on Costa Rica's northeast Caribbean coast, this all-inclusive lodge offers “the most luxurious accommodations and best food in Tortuguero” and most important, is fishermen friendly.
The Hotel Melia Cariari is a lot larger with casino and has around 220 rooms.
Charter Fishing services can be arranged at the hotels and/or you can broker your fishing trip ( travel, hotel etc) in a complete package with companies like http://www.fishcostarica.com or http://www.richardkrug.com that offer deals on both the Pacific and Caribbean side. Both companies have been in catering to fishermen for over 25 years.
On the Pacific side there is more nightlife action and casinos all within a few dollars taxi ride, if not at the hotels themselves. Los Suenos in the Playa Herradura area is one of the most popular fishing areas on the Pacific side.
Tortuguero-Barra del Colorado area is best known for its world-class snook fishing, and is the home to Captain Eddie Brown (Tortuguero) the universally acknowledged "Tarpon King" of Costa Rica, has been guiding in the area for more than 30 years. You can also fish for tarpon, marlin, calba, tuna, tripletail, kingfish, Spanish and Cero mackerel, Jack Crevalle and barracuda
To get a nice look at boats and from what area go to

Best of luck and wishes fishing |

Limon or the Caribbean is too danger, stay away from there.
And no, there is no casinos. Is the poorest area of the country. They have some hotels, but basically are eco-tourist (no A/C, small beds, etc)
Try Guanacaste. |
