what is crazy charlie talking about? What has to do California with latin american cities?
Anyways....i'll reply to you....
How do you want a reply for your question if all the latin american cities arent the same??.
If i ask you 6 characteristics from european cities.........how can you tell them to me?
How can be the same Paris than Prague, or Rome.....or Vienna??
In Latin America happens the same.
Each city has its own characteristics.
For example.....Buenos Aires is most with european look.....Montevideo has a great european architecture, an old city from conquer's times and very warm pple....Rio de Janeiro is a beautiful city with wonderful beaches........Santiago de Chile is a mix between colonial and european.........Lima has modern part and another with remembers from indians.....Bogota.......modern and cultural city.........la Paz........is colonial and very high....some pple feels as tired bcoz of the altitude........Asuncion...it seems that you are in other continent bcoz almost all the pple speak Guarani there............Quito....it's from another century....very beautiful and built on ancient indian city...Caracas..surrounded by the mountains and so much green.....
As you can see....i cant say the same thing from them........each of them are unique......and soooooooooooo much beautiful.
Pple dont know how much beautiful South America is.
.....Sorry.i cant talk about central and north latin america, bcoz i dont know them |

Some of the general things i noticed about Latin American v. US cities (this by no means is a desciption of all of them)...
1) Quite a few poeople in traditional clothing. This varies widely by country, but I've never seen so many people wearing traditional clothing.
2) Bright Colors-They're everywhere!
3) Music-it's always playing.
4) Huge number of street vendors-more than any place I've seen in the US before. Most have just a few things and they're generally small-gum, candy, etc
That's all I've got... |

1- They are all centered around a square (in Mexico it's called a zocola), containing a church and municipal building.
2- They are all very loosely zoned compared to US cities, with residential and comercial areas overlapping.
3- They invariably have extensive (if unnerving) public transport systems, usually busses.
4- They all contain a market area, where local goods are available.
5- They all contain an historic district, with 17th Cen. archeticture, and preserved sites.
6- They pride themselves on their public parks, museums, and art galleries, even when they shouldn't...
Oh yeah, and they're dangerous, over-crowded, dirty, poor, and full of traffic, too. But they're worth it. |

Well, they are all over California and the main things I know of California is they are trendsetters, it is very expensive to live there, there is a lot of Mexican food, and they are very much into organic foods and protecting nature and animals in general. By the way, stop bashing the Mexicans. Some of us don't appreciate it. I for one, am related to them. |
