Mastercard or Visa in Guatemala? Which is better, or it doesn't matter?
I'm assuming lots of places in Antigua accept them, but those who have gone, have you noticed otherwise? Additional Details I found this link that says Mastercard was better:

anyone find that to be true? I remember reading somewhere that one or the other wasn't accepted because of fees but I didn't save that site
when i went to guatemala this summer i was able to use my visa debit card everywhere and had no problem. a friend i was with had more difficulty with her master card, so she ended up using her visa instead.

Living here, i can tell you that both are fine. But some places, accept only Visa. There are not much places like that, but you can find some, so Visa is better on those cases. Right now, American Express is accepted in every place, i have mine and it´s fine.

Everytime I travel to Guatemala I use my visa and American Express, I haven't seen any problem with any credit or debit card at all.

I don't think it really matters, but just know that when you use your credit card at most merchants it prints your whole card number and expiration date on the receipt.
