there are also mayan ruins in El Salvador in Izalco. Mariachi i believe is Mexican but are found in Guatemala and El Salvador for sure.

If you have time, I will suggest the following:
Mayan Astrology---Mexico--the best astrology sites are there, specially at the begining of the crop season, which is when you can see the shadow snakes.

Mayan ritual and thombs--Guatemala, Tikal---this is the best of the Mayan world in my opinion, there you can explore Mayan calendar, see the Great Jaguar. Watch a sunset with jungle around and only the tip of the pyramids showing....also called Valley of Death...!

Honduras also has great mayan sites. Check your local travel agent and ask for a detail trip to the Mayan World. You will be amaze...!

I would guess Mexico

Mexico, Belize

the Mayan culture is from the south of Mexico (Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Chiapas and a little bit of Campeche) all the way to Guatemala and part of Belize.
The Lime soup is from Yucatan,
The Mariachi is from Guadalajara and part of Central Mexico.

So all at the same time is almost impossible, unless, you get the "mariachi for tourists" in the south of Mexico.

You can do all these three in Mexico. You will certainly have the best chance of listening to top quality mariachi music there in spite of its growing international appeal. Lime soup can be found in other countries in the region but I believe it originates form the Yucatan and as that is also the location of some of the most accessible Mayan ruins. You could achieve much using Merida, principle city of the region, as your base.
However, my favourite Mayan site in Mexico is Palenque, some 9 hours away by bus in the direction of my favourite city is San Cristobal de la Casas (in the far south highland region)where you will find much more Mayan culture.
Cross the border in the Guatemala and you will find even more culture of the present day Maya. It is also possible to visit one of the best Mayan ruins - Tikal - set in the jungle. It is however harder work to get out there and probably safer to go as part of an organised trip if you are not an experienced traveller.
I did a loop of the region that took in all the places I mention as well as Belize and spent around a month there. Stay as long and see as much as you can, it is a wonderful place.

I don't think it's possible to find all three in the same country. The majority of Mayans live in Guatemala, so that's where most of their ruins are! Mexico was the home of the Aztecs, there were never any Mayans there! But Mariachi music is traditionally Mexican isn't it? I've never heard it played elsewhere in south or central America. As for lime soup, I don't know where you might find that, but I'm right about the Mayans!!!!!!!!

CrazySexyCool
Mayans are in South Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras, there is no such thing as lime soup and Mariachi is typical of Mexico but is played everywhere.....
