Miami and Costa Rica [Please help if you know the area!]? |
My uncle and I travel quite often, and for Winter Break we are going to Miami and Costa Rica [he lives above the artic circle and he wanted to go somewhere warm]. I have a couple of questiond. First off, the only food my uncle and I seem to agree on is Chinese, where in Miami or the Key West is the best Chinese food? And also, where are some cities that we should go to in Costa Rica. Neither of us know one thing about it, [I didn't even know where it was until yesterday] and I want to make sure I see what there is to see. Where is the rainforest located and what precautions should I take before entering it. |

In Miami there are many chinese places so you won´t have trouble finding one.
In Costa Rica, you should go to the Guanacaste and Puntarenas beaches such as Avellanas, Tamarindo, Flamingo, Brasilito, Manuel Antonio, Dominical.
Costa Rica is very green and has an almost perfect climate, a lot of friendly people and many things to do.
some of the nice tours are the Tortuga island, the volcanoes, the Tortuguero canals, the canopy and the white water rafting.

In Miami there are chinese restuarants all over the place but in Miami is the only place where chinese restuarants sell the best and absolute best Honey Chicken. So if you go to a Chinese restuarant in Miami make sure you ask for an order of Honey Chicken, you wont regret it and know matter what other state you go to, you wont find that same honey chicken. And in Miami if you want to enjoy just stay in any hotel on Collins Ave, wether its north or south beach, drive through collins ave enjoy the beach there. All the bars and clubs at night in south beach are on washinton ave, collins ave and ocean drive starting from 5th street.
In COsta Rica you need to go to the beach, its way different than the Miami beach because its a mix of mountains with beach in Miami its flat, there are know mountains but the sky looks bigger. IN CR go check out a volcano, a cloud forrest and of course one of the beaches, there are a lot of beaches in CR most all of them are beautiful exept for the one in Port Puntarenas and Jaco is a popular party beach town but the water is dirty, if you want to see clean beuatifull beaches go to the Nicoya Peninsula. PS, you will find chinese restuarants all over Costa Rica too, especially in San Jose, the city and capitol but you wont find that honey chicken im talking about there.
Oh and i forgot, when you go to Miami make sure you go to a place called Bay Side, you will absolutely love it and never forget the experience there. |

Precautions?, I would say driving there, is kinda crazy, and little it dangerous around the hills and curves. About food hmmmm I love it!. You can go to Arenal Volcano, Manuel Antonio park, Guanacaste city, Limon city, don t recommended that all, yuckk area.

For your first time in Costa Rica I would suggest Arenol or Manual Antonio. Or both! You can hike, bike, white water raft, zip line, see volcanoes, surf, scuba and a million other things.
In Miami, there are Chinese restaurants everywhere, I'm sure you'll find a good one. Best to ask that question in the Miami section for specifics as I'm never that picky.
There are many rainforest in Costa Rica. Just head towards the coast. The Manual Antonio National Park is a great one. The biggest precaution I suggest is to take a guided hike in any area you are going to hike in. The guide can tell you lots of information that will help you. They have poisonous fauna you'll want to be able to recongize (10x worse than poisen ivy according to our guide). There are flowers that vipers hide behind to wait for hummingbirds. You'll want to know where the crocs are sleeping. It's very safe if you are informed about this kind of stuff, but risky if you are just tromping through the forest. Plus with the guide, they'll be able to point cool things out that you probably wouldn't see otherwise. I always take a guided hike first and then freestyle hike after I learn a little something about the area.
Costa Rica is such a fun place, I'm sure you'll have a blast. |
