My fiancee and I are looking to go to Guantacaste, Costa Rica for our honeymoon. Looking for some info!!!?

My fiancee and I are looking to go to Costa Rica for our honeymoon. My parents have a week at a timeshare we can use. A travel agent told us to look at www.viator.com to book excursions such as the zipline tours, snorkeling, etc. The only problem is that all of the excursions leave from San Jose and the one resort there for the timeshare is CRUDDY!!! We're looking to maybe go north to Guanacaste instead (several nice time share places) but want to make sure we can do all of the same fun stuff. I'm looking for anyone who has been there who would have some helpful information! Please let me know!

It's Guanacaste (just one T) and there are pages of info on places to go and things to do in Guanacaste on the web.You should be able to find that most,if not all of the things you want to do are also available in Guanacaste. You're making the right choice by avoiding San Jose.Have a great honeymoon!

We just came back from Costa Rica and we toured the country. We stayed for 3 days at the Hilton Papagayo in Guanacaste. The Hotel itself is beautiful but I would not recommend it for honeymooners, because the food was so bad and the swimming pools so unclean.
Anyway, from that hotel we did so many tours...the ziplining, the ATv tour...you name it. It is all there!!!!
You can almost book any tour from your hotel!

I would recommend though for a honeymoon to travel a little around.
My first choice would be the Kioro Arenal in the Arenal area. A dream come true!!! the best rooms and the best view.
And the second choice would be Hotel El Parador, in Quepos, Mauel Antonio Area. Beautiful hotel!!!

Guanacaste was very dry when we went there 2nd week of April, but they said the rainy season would start now in May.

I hope this helped.

don't say no more... go to Paradisus Playa Conchal. that's the place where you need to be. i won't say much but you'll love it.

Yes San Jose isnt at all nice. But remember now that their are also direct flights from the states into Guanacaste airport at Liberia.
How much do you want to spend on your honeymoon. Guanacaste is by far the best place in Costa Rica.
I recommend, Melia conchal, and of course the Four seasons, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt spent New years there, but of course its expensive.
I really also like Nosara, the beach there is called Playa Guiones, they have all equipped homes for a $1000 a week.
Conchal is the most beautifuliest beach to me. Have a good one.

Nice choice! Costa Rica is the right place for newly wed like you. There are lot of provinces in Costa Rica to enjoy more of your honeymoon aside from Guanacaste. Check those places.

Get the travel book 'Costa Rica' by Lonely Planet. All the info you will need.

The North part of Guanacaste has the most beautiful beaches.
You can book tours to the ziplines, volcanos, and to other attractions thorough the hotel you are staying at. All the hotels offers that service, either themselves or have connections with a third party agency.
