People are so ignorant!!! First of all The War happened long long time ago! Second of all ,the place is called " La Puerta del Diablo" ( the devils door) and it is NOT ADVICEABLE for you to go there due to the fact that alot of drunks and druggies hide and sleep there and is also located in a very dangerous part of the outsides of the capital. If you visit, stay in San Salvador. I lived there since I was 4 due to the fact that y parents were diplomats woring at the u.s embassy and where I lived was very safe . I lived there until 4 years ago that I moved to Boca Raton , Florida. There is a Radisson Hotel in Colonia Escalon which is kind of a community or area. Dont take public buses because only the poor people take them and eve they get mugged. Take a cab ( but they will probbly try to rip you off) it would be better to rent a car from hertz which is really cheap. Dont eat anything from the streets.Go to this restaurant/ fast food place called Pollo Campero!! They have amazing chicken, kind of like KFC and a place called Multiplaza which is a huge brand new mall that you will absolutely there. why are you going to el salvador?
its not a bad place.. you just have to be careful like el en pueblo .. dont carry jewelry or lots of money with you .. or just dont look all dressy cus people will jack you .. dont you have family over there?
you will be safe over there though, i went like 3 years ago but i was with my uncle most of the time, so i was pretty much safe.
avoid riding the bus .. you never know who's on there.. |

AWWW my family is from El Salvador(ive never been there...but my mom says that theres this one place called 'la montaña del diablo'...meaning the mountains of the devil...lol but its soppuse to be this awsome mountians that are all foggy or something...and now theres suppose to be an amusment park or something....i dont know personally or anything but.... |

go to san salvador, which is the capitol. you should avoid anything that looks unhealthy. |
