Need some information on Paraguay. I want to visit Uruguay and Argentina this coming summer.?

I would like to add Paraguay to my itenary but I have heard that there some active terrorist training camps in Paraguay. Has anyone else heard of this? I understand that the Moslem religion is making some drastic inroads in Paraguay. I do know that there is a really large Mosque in Valencia Venezuela and a lot of mid east people. Is this situation becoming more common in South America?

No, this situation is not becoming more common in South America. I wouldnt go to Paraguay, (no offense paraguayans) simply because there's nothing there in terms of history or even scenary that I would want to see. I am sure it is a great country but it is surrounded by a lot of jungle (very hot, sticky with mosquitoes) and I dont like that. I have heard about guerillas hiding in the jungles of Paraguay but nothing else.
If it was me, I would stick to Uruguay and Argentina and if you want a third country go to either Brazil (quite near) of Chile. I recommend you go to Peru but on a separate trip as you need a lot of time to visit all the wonderful places here.

No..........southamerica is a calm place.
Some countries have problems as everywhere, but most of them are very, very calm.

I'm uruguayan, and can tell you that Uruguay is a very peaceful place. The pple is very friendly, and like to show the country to strangers.
Even in Uruguay you have many things for visiting.
You didnt say if you want to visit it in your summer or in our summer. Uruguay's capital city Montevideo is very nice.
Our beaches are great in summer . Also in the north you have beautiful places with thermal water, and you can stay there. In the East, you can go Punta del Este,Piriapolis and the almost virgin beaches of Punta del Diablo, Cabo Polonio and Balizas. By the way.....no mosques in Uruguay.
.
Also Argentine has nice and beautiful landscapes. Mendoza, Bariloche, Misiones, and if you want a city..........there is Buenos Aires.

In Paraguay.you can visit the Iguazu falls. I think that the place you have been said in Paraguay is the place called "3 fronteras" near Ciudad del este. There is an important number of arabs there......but...I cant say that they are terrorists.
Can we say that all arabs are terrorists??? I dont think so
Anyways......If you want safe and comfortable places, then come to Uruguay, Argentina, and can add Brazil.

When people know nothing about a place, they should refrain from saying that they have heard this and that. There is no guerrilla in Paraguay and there is a lot to see. Here is a sample

If you want to enjoy three countries at once try the "triple frontier" Argentina, Brasil and Paraguay.

Near the "Iguazzu Falls" but NOT much to see in Asuncion, Paraguay!

Uruguay, is only a couple of hours via ferry from Buenos Aires.

try:

By the way: NO terrorists!!!
