October is Spring in Peru and the weather should be more or less fair and sunny. However, this year has been extremely cold and winter came a bit late (July instead of June) so you should expect some cold weather still in October, depending where in peru you're travelling. The northern coast is always sunny due to the Niño current. The south is quite cold due to the Humboldt current. Lima would be around 20-22 degrees Celsius. It would be better for you to wear layers, especially in the highlands where it could be suny and hot during the day and cold during the night.

well its different all over Peru. The coast does not fluctuate much in temperature because of waters high heat capacity. Ont he other hand, hotspots like Cuzco will be rather cold because it is early spring and also 11,000 feet above sea level. However, the rainforest part will almsot always be hot and huimid because of its proximity to the equator and the mountains which shield them. And the desert is, well, desert. Simply Put.

As the answers above have suggested there are really three climatic zones in Peru - the coast, the jungle and the highlands.

In October the coast is going to be reasonably warm (say between 20°-25°C) although it may be quite cloudy in the mornings.

The highlands will also be a little cloudy but when the sun does come through it can be quite fierce due to the altitude. You'll be looking at between 18°-25°C here although once the sun goes down it will get much colder - perhaps down to 5-6°C. You shouldn't see too much rain in October but it's a possibility.

In the rainforest, it's generally pretty humid and rarely gets cold (although mornings can be cooler). You're also likely to see plenty of rain. Hence the name!

Hope all this helps!

Ok, weather used to be just cool in october but this is a very special winter....consider the climate change an the last earhquake. Temperatures are not that low ( 12-15 C) but the cold sensation is very strong, specially if you are near the ocean and during the night. It doesn't really rain but you may have a wet drizzle every day

the weather is crazy right now all over Peru. In October is spring so that means a little less humidity and sometimes sunshine. I recommend you bring a coat its kinda chilly that time of year even though we are in Spring.
good luck
