Ok, so the sci dept of my school is planning on a field trip to Costa Rica next yr and I want to go. The money is no big deal since most of it is payed for by fundraisers, but my parents don't want to let me go. They say that they don't want me going to another country unsupervised, but there will be ~5 teachers on the trip. I'm going to be almost 16 by this trip. Thanks a lot
***Don't say "Oh, your too young to go on this trip, your parents are right." or something like that. |

Its a great experience to become more mature. Travelling is something amazing and everyone should travel the most to their ability. Tell your parents you will be learning life skills and things that you would never be able to learn in the classroom. Good Luck =) |

It's a shame that your parents won't let you go, it's an amazing opportunity. I was actually in a similiar situation back when I was your age. I never got to go and to this day I'm still slightly resentful over the way they wouldn't even discuss the option with me. Hopefully your parents are a little more willing to listen.
My advice is to see if you can "earn" their permission. Work with them to set a list of chores or activities they want you to do in exchange for their permission to go.

Tell them your mature enough to go and show them that by doing a series of things that they think are very mature like being honest. Try to make them think your old enough and mature enough to go. |

Suggest to them that they go as chaperons. If it's being paid for and they can take the time off from work, that would be the best argument you could make. |
