One Week in Central America--Where Should I Go? |
Hey! I have enough frequent flier miles to go to Central America for December of 2009. I haven't done much research yet, but would love some advice. Sadly, I am only able to take one week off of work, so a country where major attractions are near the airport (or within short day trips of it would probably be the best) Any suggestions would be great!! I'm thinking Christmas to New Year.
Belize, Costa Rica, El Savador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama are the choices, of course. Thanks! |

One week certainly isn't much time for a vacation but I can recommend La Ceiba, Honduras. Shopping, beaches, rain forest tours and white water rafting in the nearby Pico Bonito National Park. The Lancetilla Botanical Garden is close by, and the Bay Islands just offshore offer fishing, scuba, snorkeling, dolphin shows, or you can even swim with these gentle creatures. These attractions are all withing a day trip. A little farther but worth the trip are the Mayan ruins of Copan. There are accommodations to suit any budget and it is very inexpensive to travel and dine compared to some of the more well known tourist areas such as Belize or Cozumel.

I do not know what sorts of things you like to do. However I would recommend Costa Rica. I have been there 4 times.I enjoyed seeing volcanoes. There are lots of day trips to go on except on the Atlantic coast. |

you should go to honduras and go to islas de la bahia or bay island if you dont understand itd so beatufil ther the beach is great and you just have to go to ceiba and then a nice trip in boat or a yet plane if you wish and there is so beatiful with a very clear water and amazing animals you will love it is amazing!!!!!! |
