Let's see:

Peru is a presidential democracy (presidential because executive power is in the hands of the president, unlike european democracies that are parlamentary and executive power is in the hands of the prime minister).

Peru has a mixed economy, leaning to the free market, but with social programs to try to curb poverty.

Exports are minerals (gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead and molibdenum), crops (mangoes, aesparragus, potatoes) and fishmeal. There is also a lot of textiles exported.

Imports are machinery, wheat and oil.

Important resources: minerals, the Amazon Jungle, the diversity of climates that allow it to produce almost any product grown anywhere in the world), the sea and the humboldt current which provides plenty of fish.

Cultural holidays: Independence day (28th of july), and christmas are the most important. Diferent regions have also different traditions. In Lima, October is the month of the "Señor de los Milagros" (Lord of Miracles) and there are a number of processions of the image of the christ of miracles during the month (it is also called the purple month as people dress in purple in honor of the Christ and as penitance). Foods: In the coast it is Cebiche (raw fish in lemon juice with onions chili and parsil), there is also Aji de Gallina (chicken in chili), Lomo saltado (stir fried beef), Tacu tacu (sort of refried beans), Papa a la huancaina (literally means "potatoes from huancayo" it is potatoes in a special sauce of the huancayo region), Rocotos rellenos (Stuffed chilis), ocopa (tough to translate, it is potatoes in a suace made from peanuts, cilantro and a bunch of other ingredients), Anticuchos (sort of a shish-kebab of bull heart), and many more...

It is a developing country and, luckily, in the right track for the past 10 years or so.

Peru is a "democracy" yet it is governed mainly but the high class and the military, since the poor and disadvantaged have hardly any means of moving up, only 3 % of Peru s rich, the economy is an open economy their major imports are fish flour , minerals , oil , llama, vicuña wool , its the only world source of pima cotton. they celebrate christmas and new years, their country's annyversary is on the 28th of Juy and they declare it both the 27th and 28th a holiday. it is a poor country with much setbacks considered as developed, but for many practical reasons pretty hopeless
