I'm Peruvian and I love my country, seen to most of it's atractions and the same goes with Italy, been there once on an intense 21 day trip to most of it's atractions also. They're both great destinations.
Peru in 8 days:
Arrivie to Lima stay in the airport hotel and take a flight to Arequipa early in the morning, tour the city while you get used to the hightness and the next morning take a flight to Cuzco you'll need 5 days for Cuzco & Macchu Picchu, then take a train to Puno to visit Lake Titicaca and then back to Lima.
Italy in 8 days:
Arrive to Rome at least 2 1/2 days to visit Rome-Vatican then go to Siena, Florence, Pisa, Venice and Milan. If you can squeeze in Verona, Ok. It is best to get a tour package because you can go to more places in a short time.
Wheather is good for both destinations in May, food is great also in both countries. Peru might be cheaper than Italy, but I really can't say that one is better than the other.
If you want to decide for yourself, think what drives you the most. If it's History, Art, Arquitechture, the origin of your culture then go to Italy, it's the best destination in Europe. If it's Mysticism, beautifull landscapes, to explore a culture so different from your own, then decide for Peru. |

Hi , I´m colombian. I liked Peru, with Machupichu and all the touristic places it has but if I had the opportunity I would go first to Italy that has a lot of wonderful and known places. |

Probably in yr mind you've already a propensity to Peru if you've posted here instead of on travel-Italy, where I bet you would have received almost all answers supporting Italy.
Also you didn't follow in yr Q the alphabetic order that should be "Italy or Peru ?".
However, unless you're lucky to find a neutral answerer who by chance has visited both countries and therefore can give you a frank opinion, I guess you'll get just responses only based on personal preferences or suggested by a sort of not completely understandable nationalism. I personally think both destinations are great and wherever you go you'll have a nice time. It's also possible you go and visit the other country at yr next opportunity of a vacation time.
Enjoy yr holidays....!! |
