Planning a trip to Costa Rica-what is the best time of year to go, where should we stay-what should we do?

We are looking at the Central Pacific and an all-inclusive hotel. Any help would be appreciated.

Wow! I am amazed at the innaccuracy of some of the answers. The rainy season in Costa Rica is end of April/beginning of May all the way to the end of November/early December. In fact, the rainiest months in Costa Rica are September and October. You will get almost no rain from mid-December to the end of April. That's the best time to visit. However, that also coincides with the tourist high season, so the prices go up.
The place to stay if you are going to the Central Pacific is Barcelo Tambor if you want something all inclusive. You can also check the Doubletree Puntarenas, former Fiesta hotel now owned by the Hilton Hotel chain. Those are great and the prices are not out of this world, even during the tourist high season. Have a great time and enjoy Costa Rica.
For any other Costa Rica information, visit the TicosLand website.

ben there
February is the best, What do you require Costa Rica has very rustic to 5 star hotels. It really depends on your budget and wants. What to do again depends on your age and what you like to do. Costa Rica has water (ocean) on both sides, the Pacific side is better for surfing, swimming and fishing and is more developed. Inland there are white water rafting, hiking, A lot of nature things. How long do you want to stay will determine what you have time for. I would recommend getting a guide book and see what you would like to do and plan your trip around that activity. Go on the web and look a Tabacon.com that is real nice and there are trips you can take from there. Costa Rica has waterfalls, butterflies, volcanoes, rivers, hills, ocean, jungle and adventure all available to you. Hope you have a great trip and lots of fun

check out the Hotel Barcelo chain. They are all inclusive and beautiful.. and have a few throughout the country. It's rainy season from about September through January... but that only means it rains in the morning and it's nice in the afternoon. Great places to go- Tortugero, Volcan Poas, Volcan Irazu, Manuel Antonio national park.

Feb is the driest month.......lots of stuff to read Moon, Real Planet, Foorders............go to a book store............
