If you need to continue a specific treatment you cannot leave the country without a recommendation from your present psychiatrist. It is not ethical to send a patient to another country without liaising first with a colleague who will continue the treatment so please, ask your psychiatrist and he/she will recommend the best for you. Don't find one through YA or the yellow pages, find someone from a professional who will best help you. Good luck! |

Besides first-hand knowledge and recommendation from someone in Panama of a psychologist there, the best advice should come from your present psychologist.
He or she should be able to find and/or recommend someone down there through contacts in the "field" and/or "academia."
Even my dentist, which is not as delicate a field as psychiatry, was able to do that for me when I moved to another country! He (my dentist) was able to refer me to a good dentist in a foreign country. And my new dentist is bilingual. |

I know one, but she is a psychiatrist and for me is the best one of Panama. Her name is Dora Da Costa and you can contact her in the (507) 207-8100/207-8102. She works on the Hospital Nacional. For me a treatment with a psychiatrist works better than a psychologist, because they identify you and find you a good solution for your treatment and also knows the best medication for you. I had change my psycologist to her and im very happy and i recommend her to anybody.
