Where is the best place to find information on RV sites in Central America - Costa Rica and Panama specifically? Has anyone stayed at these sites and have feedback? |

I have to agree with the others. I have never seen an RV here and the roads are terrible, narrow and full of giant potholes. Getting here via RV would take forever and probably drive you crazy anyway. Best to go somewhere else if you want to RV. |

Campgrounds of any kind, are very scarce and very undeveloped in both countries-- I doubt that there are more than 1-2 RV sites between Mexico and Argentina. If there is one in Costa Rica or Panama, I would guess that it would be in Panama.
I have seen 2 RV's in all of my time (10+ years) of going to CR and one of them was for sale. I have only been to Panama 4-5 times and neve seen an RV.
I don't think driving would be dangerous in either country. Panama has very good highways. The roads in CR are narrow and suspension killing potholes are frequent.
That said, an RV would be an adventure. I would worry about break-ins but other than that, it would be doable. It would certainly be an adventure. Good luck!!! |

There's only one place in Panama that I know of that takes RV's. It's called XS Memories, and it's in Santa Clara beach. Try to google it, as I believe they have a webpage, or at least there's some info posted on them on a tourist guide. |

There are no RV sites in Costa Rica, period. I have been here since 2000, and never even seen an RV here.
I wouldn't take one anyways, with the road conditions, you'll find that your better off in two 4 x 4's.
If you do pull it off and get an RV down to Costa Rica, let me know. I'd love to hear your stories. |

hmm... interesting question.
I have traveled up and down the west coast and central CR, and not only have I never seen a RV site, I dont think I have ever even seen an RV.
It would be hard to drive a RV on a lot of the roads without falling off a cliff or off a narrow bridge.
There might be some.... but I have never seen one.... also, it probably is not too safe (crime-wise and driving).
I dont recommend traveling in Costa Rica in an RV.... I dont think it is safe. |

There has been a great full service RV park in San Antonio, Belen since 1972. The owners have consistently upgraded the infrastructure and it is comparable to any RV site in North America. If you would like to see some photos of the area where you can relax and enjoy your RV in the central valley of Costa Rica visit; http://tictomasino.spaces.live.com |

There is one RV site that I know has been in San Antonio of Belen for at least 30 years, you can actually park it anywhere you want off of a main road, some of the RVs here make a deal with people who have space on there private property.
