Safe fun latin american country to travel? |
I am a 22 year old black, Canadian female who loves the latin culture very much, from the food to the music, to Spanish, love it all. I'm trying to be fluent in Spanish. Between Low and high, my Spanish is at a medium level. I want to go to a Latin american country. I would love to go to a country to visit the different places, meet new people and also party (anywhere but Cancun). Any suggestions? |

Guatemala is a fun, relatively safe and cheap country to travel by yourself or with a travel agency. There are endless places to see and things to do. Jungle, black sand beaches, volcanoes, just to name a few! Antigua Guatemala is a charming little town that offers dozens of small Spanish schools that are perfect for tourists like us. Guat has tons of intriguing history and culture. My favorite place in the world. If CA doesn't suit your fancy, Chile is also a fairly safe and fun country to travel. |

I have only been to Mexico (extensively)), Honduras, and Guatemala and they were all great. I'm returning to all three this December. I think that you'd love Guanajuato City in October-November, Antigua and Lago Atitlan in December and Las Ruinas de Copan and the Islands of Honduras in December. |

I agree with Tamara, Guatemala is a beautiful place to visit; However you have to be careful, as public transportation is dangerous. I have relatives in guatemala and they tell stories.
I went 10 years ago with my husband and 2 young girls, 22, and 16 years old. We traveled in cars all the time with relatives. We flew to the Tikal Ruins in El Peten. In el Peten we had a private guide, very good by the way. He spoke abut 5 different languages.
Use comon sense when you travel. All the time.
Another good place to go and is safe is Costa Rica. I have never been there, but I have friends and relatives who have gone. And they loved it. |
