YOUCH!
I was sure that was a mistake...that the weight limit must actually be in kilos, not pounds, but you're both right. I checked the Sansa web site and it does indeed say 27 pounds / 12 kilos. They are surely geared more towards short trips than towards international travelers lugging a week's worth of stuff. |

What a diaster and hassle it is after getting of a flight from the U.S. to Costa Rica, and then having to go through Customs, Baggage claim, and then finally exit the airport only to have to get driven to another part of the airport to take yet another flight, in a Puddle Jumper, down to Quepos, only to find out that if you have more than 27lbs of luggage(less than 1-large suitcase with a weeks clothing), that your suitcases will either have to arrive on another flight, or be driven down to Quepos.
In other words, when you get to Quepos, your luggage will arrive sometime later. Uhhhh, no thanks! Other than visiting Manuel Antonio park for a day or two, I dont see any reason to travel to Quepos. The place is a dump, and there is really nothing there that you cant find an hour closer to the airport, in the Jaco Beach and Los Suenos area, and to spend a week there would be a waste of time and money. After 7pm there is nothing worth mentioning to do and most importantly, EVERYTHING in that area is overpriced including dining, drinking, and shopping.
Do yourself a favor, and plan a trip to the Jaco Beach and Los Suenos area instead. There is more to see and do, it will cost you less, the fishing is better, and the nightlife is fantastic. Manuel Antonio is only an hour South of Jaco Beach, and you can pay a day visit to the Quepos, Manuel Antonio area, then get out of there and back to a better time.( Make sure you eat at the Gran Escape restaurant if you visit Quepos.. it's about the only place worth visiting there) |
