Should I go to Peru - Bolivia or to Southeast Asia during August? |

I've been to both Peru and Vietnam, both in August. Both are AMAZING, so if you are asking with specifics to the month (as in, which is better in the month of August?), I would say Vietnam, since Peru is in the middle of winter in August.
However, WHERE you go in Peru also matters. At that time of year in Lima, you are GUARANTEED 100% humidity and 70 degrees Farenheit. If you go in the Andes to Cuzco and Macchu Pichu, the weather might actually be warmer and drier.
If you go to Southeast Asia, it is hotter, and can be somewhat rainier, but definitely much more lush and green, and you'll still see plenty of sun. |

Go to Ecuador, I recommend many places but make sure you visit Galapagos and also Quito and the surrounding areas and "haciendas" where you can be so close to nature, forget the big cities... |

The continent of South America is beautiful - though high ground will be chilly in August! Low land and coastal Peru will be pleasant - try the desert oasis of Huacachina for sandboearding and a flight over the famous nazca lines - you can sross the border into Bolivia over the stunning lake Titicaca |

Hello Irene! I'm from Bolivia and I can tell you that August is kind of windy but nive, November is the begining of the rainy season, so try to avoid it otherwhise you won't be able to visit a lot of places.
If you need more information with the country just ask! |

Go to peru and there is an awesome tour that goes up into the northern Andes of Peru where you go and stay with locals and build a stove for them out of brick etc... The atmosphere is like going back 100 yrs, really great... The best part thought is getting to see how these poeple really live, and helping them modernize a little... They normally cook on an open fire, and the smoke fills the kitchen and it is very unhealthy...
The tour is not very expensive and leaves one with the wonderful feeling of helping the poeple..
IT IS THE ONLY WAY TO GO!!! |

I'd go to Peru. Its the most interesting and unique country I have ever visited.
The only thing I truly regret is that I only had two weeks there.
The people are very friendly, but I guess that applies to all the countries in South America.
The country has a rich cultural history and offers a lot of diversity (coast, desert, jungle, mountains). |
