Should I visit Valparaiso or Santiago, Chile?
I have one extra day in my trip to visit Valparaiso or Santiago, and I can't do both. Which place do you recommend for a day trip?
Both are very close to each other, Santiago is the capital city and Valparaiso is the beach.
So either one will be close to the other.

ValparaÃso. Must see Cerro Alegre, Neruda's house museum, the flee market and the "picadas", humble restaurants where you can eat fresh seafood. Don't go to the ones that accept credit cards; that's for the "gringos".

Valparaiso without any doubt ;-) so much beautiful ... unless is in your interest to visit big, crowded cities like Santiago.

but santiago is hot and has nice malls with A LOT of interesting stuff to buy

but if you consider vina del mar....it is soooo pretty! the watever and the waves are amazing... but a little chilly .. just enough to wear a sweater and pants
