I don't mean to be annoying but I don't quite agree with the previous answer.
I've been to Colombia and it is a beautiful country but it is also a little dangerous. A friend of mine was kidnapped for a few hours by the taxi driver and people there told her is a bit common...he didn't hurt her or anything like that but he did steal everything he could! I don't mean that it is any more dangerous than any other country and it's still beautiful but if you need to give an answer to that question I wouldn't say it isn't dangerous what I would say is:

I speak for Bogota since I haven't stayed long enough in other cities to answer fully.

1. Bogota can be dangerous if you roam in the South side of the city at dark hours. Especially if you give off that American tourist vibe.
2.The view in Bogota is mountainous and can be cold at times.

4.There are many ways you can travel in Bogota...Transmilenio or bus is the most popular.

7. You should definitely visit La Candelaria, Museo de Botero, Parque de la 93 and more that I can't remember! :P

I'm not saying that Bogota is not dangerous because it can be...just like any other big city. There are some places in New York you would be better off avoiding at certain times. It doesn't mean you shouldn't miss out on visiting New York! You just have to use your intuition and common sense. And if you feel unsafe then move on, don't linger.
