Try looking up in YAHOO or GOOGLE. I would look for a place in ANTIGUA which is known for having the best Spanish schools in the country, apart of being a beautiful colonial town with lots of people from all over the world. It´s your best bet if you want to have a great experience here. |

In Guatemala there are many Spanish schools, specially in Antigua Guatemala, 1 every block almost. So, if you are coming here don't need that much research, you can go to Antigua and walk around the city looking for one depending on your budget and what do you want, in Guatemala people is really friendly so you can practice and learn by seating in the park and talk to the person that is beside you, I recommend that if you don't talk to people you can't learn. you can go to www.visitguatemala.com and try to search for Spanish schools in there. Buena suerte!!!! |

You are missing information about Quetzaltenango (commonly known as Xela)! I lived in Guatemala for 6 months and I would highly reccommend Xela over Antigua if you want a real immersion experience. Xela is also very well known for having many quality spanish schools but it is MUCH less touristy. True, Antigua is a pretty colonial town, but to the point of feeling much too european - everyone speaks english and there arent nearly as many indigenous people as there are in Xela.
www.xelapages.com is an excellent website with information about everything from schools to hotels, weather to festivals, local attractions to dance classes etc.
http://www.studyspanish.com/schools/guatemala_2.htm has listings for schools in Guatemala and I would personally reccommend Eureka Spanish School: www,eurekaxela.com - they have fantastic, enthusiastic teachers that speak many languages, they have several different class schedules, offer free snacks during breaks, free internet access and they are also one of the least expensive schools in Guatemala.
Check them out and good luck! |
