To all my Colombian friends........?

What would be an appropriate alcoholic beverage to serve with Sancocho?

We are going to have some (gringo) friends over on Tuesday for dinner and my wife will be making Sancocho. What should we serve with it? Beer? Red Wine? White Wine? Canelazo? Something else?

Thanks for the suggestions!

Sancocho is a delicious meal, I'm colombian and i love it, prepare some REFAJO that is a mixture between berr and a kola soda, something like cola y pola

dgi_marin
Definitely not wine. Light beer, refajo (it's made by mixing an orange soda called "colombiana" and beer... you can get it in the US as "cola champagne"), or natural juice (pineapple, blackberry or guava are very common for any meal here) would be fine.

Actually, some people don't even serve any kind of beverage at all. Since sancocho is a soup, they say it's weird to serve a hot kind of beverage with a cold one.

I am a gringo. Sancocho is good with all. Make some juices and put some beers in the fridge.
