you would be better taking the galapgos tours.
But it is fun to jump over the line and move from one hemisphere to the other.
Have fun, what ever you decide |

If your talking about the Equator line, I say go for it and you can be in Two different hemispheres at the same time. I really liked it when I went there. If your talking about Ecuador itself definately go it is a beautiful and wonderful conutry. There are many things to do there. |

Mitad del Mundo is a lot of fun! Its very touristy, but there are great shops, food and musical shows going on. Here is photo of me there eating cuy sitting on the Ecuator. How many people do you know that can say they sat on the Ecuator eating a Guinea Pig? :-)

Just for the fun and experience of having one foot in the northern hemisphere and one foot in the southern hemisphere, yes, it is worth the trip. Going to Ecuador and not going to the Equator line is like going to New York and not going to the top of the Empire State. |

The Mitad Del Mundo is a bit of a distance from other tourist attractions in Ecuador but I would recommend taking the trip for the experience. There is a great monument on the equator line and they have regular shows there everyday that include dancers. The Mitad Del Mundo also has lots of shops, attractions and museums. |

You should check out the museum at the mitad del mundo its on the real equator as measured by GPS, and a small distance away from the French monument. You get the grand tour of equatorial experiments, the coreolis effect, balance an egg on a nail, see how the indigenous people lived, what the little gineau pugs running around, fire darts through blowpipes and see the shrunken head of the 4 year old boy. A definite must at the equator, you can go on to the monument and get something to eat. Have fun! |
