Used to live in Panama, want to move back, speak very little spanish, Will it be hard to get a job.?

What types are of jobs are there for Americans who do not speak spanish? Will it be hard to get a job and work permit? What type of pay can I expect? Have a 10 year old son. Are there any bi-lingual schools he can attend until he learns spanish? I am currently married to a Panamanian (seperated). He will assist me with the move but I would still like some other opinions. Thanks any advice will be appreciated.

It will be very difficult for you to find a good job in Panama.
First, the permit requirements are the toughest in the world!

Second, the fact that you do not speak Spanish will really limit you.

There are a few companies that speak nothing but English, in the work place. But how do you find them? How do you make contact with them? It is very difficult.

Take a look at the link I have enclosed. The site is called Nation Master. You can do research on Panama and jobs very easily there.

But the answer to your question is: Yes, it will be hard to get a job.

well, I guess you can work as a teacher of English, in some companies or schools. I am not sure about how to get the work permit, but I know that there are a couple of Bilingual schools for your son. Check the following web site and good luck..

Well just a little note that a lot of hotels need people to speak English for there English speaking customers, as well as there are some call-centers that need English speaking people. Also, you can inquiry about teaching English as well. In Panama city there is alot of people that speak English. Also, try the restaurants as well esp the tourist restaurants.

What i recommend you is that you make your business in Panama. If you have a little bit of money to start a little restaurant or a hot dog car, that will be a job for you, but first you will have to look for somebody to help you for the permission. The are some of small businesses that you can make good earnings to survive and make your child go to a good school. Sure that there are some schools that will teach your child spanish.
Any other question i can help you at segurosstudio@yahoo.it
