I have lived in both countries (Honduras 2 years, Mexico 4), and I think you should consider what makes a good vacation for you. Honduras is beautiful and full of culture. However, you are now entering the rainy season. This means that in the mountainous areas (Teguc. and other inland cities), it's going to be cold. The beach cities are going to be rained out every day in the evening. However, the people are fantastic to tourists, and the food is divine. Honduras is also much more dangerous and it gets dark around 6:30 at night.....which hinders walking around and visiting shops, etc. They do not adhere to Daylight Savings. Mexico is full of culture too.....with beautiful beaches and scenery. However, the people are a bit cooler with foreigners. Mexico is also much more expensive. So.......considering these bits of advice, I hope you end up having a great time wherever you go! |

Mexico!
Honduras is a very beautiful country but is for sure more dangerous respect to Mexico. Honduras has got amazing beaches like Truijllo, and the Islands of the bay Roatán, Guanaja e Utila are really a paradise. But Mexico is one of my favourite places in the world, i love all of this country, the people, the cuisine,the history, the way of life.The states of Chiapas, Oaxaca and Yucatan, once in life deserve a visit. |

Mexico has more variety just because the country is bigger but I would not consider it safer than honduras. Honduras and Mexico both have quaint little towns, big industrialized cities, beatiful beaches, mayan history... so it goes back to what do you want to do? |

It depends on what you want to do. Mexico is much bigger and more to see than Honduras. I am not mexican but this is a so very nice country to visit but now this time of the year it rains too much in both places. |
