You can cook some "arepas"...It looks like mexican fajitas, but it's different. I like it, but I don't know the recipe. Actually it's both colombian and venezuelian.
Maybe you can get to know it on the internet, if you google it as " latin food" or " venezuelian food"

umm just make a typical spanish dish...rice and beans and chicken for food or dessert make flan. If you really want to be quick about it buy some guayaba pastries from the supermarket cut them up and set them on top of white cheese and crackers. Thats a great spanish appetizer. If not, search some recipes online.

You can make "polvorosas". It's the easiest I can think of, a very christmasy Venezuelan cookie and you can shre with the rest of your class...

Here's the recipe... Is in Spanish! But is easy to translate

Las polvorosas son unas galletitas de preparación sencilla y sabor delicioso, se deshacen en la boca y se hacen en estas tierras desde tiempos de la colonia. Son dulcitas y geniales para acompañar con cafecito o chocolate; se conocen en todo el país, pero las de Caracas y los Andes tienen su reconocimiento. No deje de probarlas, porque es su sencillez son un dulcito que lo atrapará con su sabor y consistencia. Esta receta, que proporciono a continuación es sencilla y les aseguro obtendrán unas polvorosas que endulzaran su paladar una y otra vez.
Ingredientes

1 Kg. de harina
1/2 Kg. de manteca vegetal
1/4 Kg. de azúcar
Canela al gusto
Azúcar Glass para decorar
Preparación

Primero pase la harina, la azúcar y la canela en polvo por un cedazo, luego agregue a esta mezcla la manteca suavizada y amase hasta obtener una masa suave. Hay dos formas de moldearlas, la primera extendiendo la masa con un rodillo hasta que tenga un espesor de un cm. y cortándolas con un vaso o cortador redondo, la segunda es haciendo pequeñas bolitas y aplastándolas con la mano dándole forma redondeada, como arepitas, colóquelas en una bandeja y llévelas al horno a 350 º hasta que estén doradas, deje enfriar y espolvoree con azúcar Glass al servir.
